Craig Campbell to Open for Alan Jackson at 2011 Clay County Fair

Spencer, Iowa – The Clay County Fair is excited to announce that country star Craig Campbell will be opening for Alan Jackson’s performance on September 18 at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are now available at the Clay County Fair Box Office, online or by phone at 712-262-4740 ext. 771.

With a straight-forward, traditional country sound, Campbell’s music describes the lives of real American people. The Georgia-bred singer/songwriter builds on the legacies of country’s most successful figures: Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson and Travis Tritt.

After two decades of performing at contests and club gigs singing covers of the most popular country stars, Campbell signed with Bigger Picture Group in 2008. His introductory five-song album landed in the iTunes Top 20, and Campbell’s success has continued.

In 2010, Campbell released “Family Man,” a hit depicting the centerpiece of his life, which quickly landed on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. His self-titled debut album blends vocal style, self-written songs and central themes of American life. The single “I Bought It” deals with revenge, while “When I Get It” puts a spin on economic conditions.  Campbell’s recent single, “Fish” puts a bawdy spin on the typical romance song.
