Ticket sale dates announced for Clay County Fair’s 2010 grandstand entertainment

Spencer, Iowa – The 2010 edition of the Clay County Fair will run September 11 – 19 and offer a variety of Grandstand entertainment for fairgoers of all ages.

Monday, June 21 marks the first day when mail-in order forms and online ticket orders will be accepted. Online ticket orders will be processed through the fair’s website at www.claycountyfair.com. Mail-in order forms can be printed off of the website also and sent into the fair office at P.O. Box 527 Spencer, Iowa 51301. Additionally, over 400,000 souvenir fair brochures will be distributed through newspapers and businesses across the region. When brochures are received, the mail-in order forms provided on them may be mailed in immediately.

All mail-in forms and online ticket orders received from June 21 to July 3 will be filled in random order. Orders received after July 3 will be processed in the order they are received. Phone orders will begin July 12 and run until the day of the event. The phone orders may be placed to 712-262-4740 extension 771.

The Grandstand Box Office will be open beginning July 19 and will be open through the end of the fair. Hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Saturdays 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon; Sundays and Labor Day 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

RODNEY ATKINS WITH SPECIAL GUEST CHRIS YOUNG
Stage Front Standing $31, Reserved Grandstand Seating $27 and Reserved Annex Seating $22
Country’s hottest stars, Rodney Atkins with special guest Chris Young, will perform on the first Saturday evening of the fair. Atkins laid-back style has rocketed him to Number One on the Billboard charts twice with the hits “Watching You” and “If You’re Going Through Hell”. Not only did those two hits reach the top, but they were also named Billboard’s Number One country songs of the year for 2006 and 2007. Most recently, Atkins album Farmer’s Daughter has been climbing the charts with the single of the same name.

Joining Atkins will be country newcomer, Chris Young. Young’s seen success on the charts with smash hits like “Gettin’ You Home (The Black Dress Song)” and “The Man I Want To Be”.

THREE DOG NIGHT WITH SPECIAL GUEST JAY AND THE AMERICANS
Stage Front Standing $31, Reserved Grandstand Seating $26 and Reserved Annex Seating $21
Classic rock and roll group, Three Dog Night will take to the stage on Sunday, September 12. The group formed in the late 1960’s, experiencing overwhelming success early on. They dominated the Billboard charts with Number One hits like “Mama Told Me (Not To Come)”, “Joy to the World”, and “Black and White”. The group was so sensational from 1969 to 1974 that during that time no other group had more Top 10 hits, moved more records or sold more concert tickets.

Jay and the Americans will appear as special guests for this grandstand show. The band became popular in the early 1960’s with their hits “She Cried”, “Come a Little Closer” and “This Magic Moment”.

4TROOPS
General Admission $10, Veterans FREE
Often dubbed “true soldiers of song”, 4Troops will perform their inspirational music. The group was originally organized by the Army for means of entertainment and encouragement to those individuals actively serving in the military. Members Former Sgt. Daniel Jens, Former Capt. Meredith Melcher, Staff Sgt. (Ret.) Ron Henry and Former Sgt. David Clemo were handpicked to form the group 4Troops.

TERRY FATOR

America’s Got Talent winner and Las Vegas headliner, Terry Fator, will perform on Tuesday, September 14. Often referred to as the “human jukebox”, Fator grew up with a love for performing ventriloquism. On a whim in 2007 he decided to compete on the popular show America’s Got Talent and took home the title of champion. His combination of ventriloquism, impersonations, comedy and singing amazes audiences of all ages. His unique show will appear at the fair as one of only six shows scheduled outside of Las Vegas.

Check out the exciting action of the Elite National Outlaw Truck and Tractor Pull. Pulling classes include Pro Stock 4x4 Truck, Super Farm Tractor, Limited Pro Stock Tractor, Pro Stock Tractor, Light Super Stock Tractor, Diesel Super Stock Tractor, Modified Tractor, Modified 2WD Truck and Modified 4WD Truck.

IMCA RACES
General Admission $15        
Racing action returns to the fair on Thursday with the IMCA Races. The race will feature IMCA Modifieds, Stock Cars, Sports Mods and Hobby Stocks.

WORLD OF OUTLAW SPRINT CAR RACING
Reserved Grandstand tickets $35, 16 and over and $15, 15 and under.
General Admission Annex tickets $30, 16 and over and $15, 15 and under.
The “Greatest Show on Dirt” returns to the Clay County Fair on Friday evening. The Clay County Fair serves as one of the races on the sanctioned sprint car series tour. The World of Outlaws consists of custom fabricated sprint cars that feature large adjustable wings on the top and rear tires that transfer their power to the dirt tracks they race on.

BLAKE SHELTON WITH SPECIAL GUEST JAMES OTTO

Country Stars Blake Shelton with special guest James Otto will appear in front of the grandstands. Shelton first made a splash with his hit song “Austin”, which spent five weeks at Number One on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. He continued to produce hits including “Some Beach”, “Goodbye Time” and “Nobody but Me”. Most recently, Shelton has been topping the charts with his song, “Hillbilly Bone”.

James Otto will join Shelton on Saturday, September 18. Otto has most recently been successful with his album Sunset Man, which produced hits like “Just Got Started Lovin’ You” and “These Are the Good Ole Days”.

BRET MICHAELS ROSES AND THORNS WORLD TOUR 2010 WITH SPECIAL GUEST ATTENTION

Former Poison front man Bret Michaels will be appearing at the fair on his Roses and Thorns World Tour 2010 with special guest Attention. Michaels first became a star performing with the 1980’s hair-band Poison. The group saw success with hits like “Talk Dirty to Me”, “I Want Action”, “Unskinny Bop” and “Every Rose Has Its Thorn”. Most recently Michaels has been on television shows including Rock of Love and Celebrity Apprentice.

Online ticket sales and mail-in order forms for grandstand shows and events will be available on Clay County Fair’s website at www.claycountyfair.com on Monday, June 21. Only online ticket sales and mail-in order forms are accepted at this time.
