Weather forces cancelation of ‘Sprint’acular racing event in Spencer
PRINCETON, MN - May 6, 2010 - By CDR PR
Due to adverse weather conditions predicted for Spencer, Iowa, and in the interest of race fans and traveling teams, CDR Promotions has been forced to cancel the Big Game Treestands, ‘Sprint’acular presented by Arnold Motor Supply scheduled for Friday May 7th, 2010 at the Clay County Fair Speedway.
“After researching through numerous weather forecasting sources, we have found many predicting high’s in the low 50’s and lows in the mid 30’s, factoring in the strong possibility of rain and of high gusts of wind, the temperature will feel more like 25 degrees. We have consulted with Steve Sinclair, President of the Interstate Racing Association and feel it is in everyone's best interest to cancel this event,” said Craig Dollansky of CDR Promotions.
Sinclair and Dollansky agreed. Promoters who try to put on a show with weather like what is forecasted for Spencer, have found that they just make everyone miserable.
“We do not want the fans to leave angry because we tried to hold an event regardless of the weather conditions,” commented Dollansky. “Compounding the forecast, many of the I.R.A. teams have a 6-7 hour road trip just to get to Spencer. We want to be proactive here, cancel early enough for the teams to not have to travel, and not force something that ‘Mother Nature’ is not cooperating with.”
We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. All pre-purchased tickets will be refunded, when returned to CDR Promotions by mail. Please mail them to CDR Promotions 10842 313th Ave. N.W. Princeton, MN 55371. Any questions regarding ticket refunds may be directed to CDR Promotions at 763-389-9717.
